family patriarch was raised by his grandmother in the Bartelsville, Oklahoma
area. Melvin did have a half sister named Daisy Carey who lived with her
mother Sarah Elizabeth (Stevens) Johnson in Howard Township, Labette County,
Kansas. Any information about any of these individuals or about the grave
of Melvin's father John Carey located in a cemetery 6 miles east of Coffeyville
Kansas, would be greatly appreciated.
