The tract of Niskayuna, where Dirk Bradt settled, lay to the east and
south of the Schenectady patent. Dirk owned a farm there which passed to
his eldest son, Johannes. His will was dated January 16, 1727 and
although he died in 1735, it was not probated until 1759. The will
mentions his wife, two sons and three daughters by name; not included was
Dirk, his youngest son.
