NJ. Wm. Price's 3rd Battalion, Capt. Robert Snell's Company. Sailor,
enlisted on armed schooner "Hawk", Capt. Enoch Stilwell. Enlisted on ship
"Morning Star" captured at sea, taken to prison at Charleston, SC and
confined 9 mos. and escaped, arriving home Nov., 1781. Enlisted at Egg
Harbor, NH, under Capt. Encoch Willette, Naval Service. Military service
proved by Records in Office of Adjutant General, NJ. Married in 1783 to
Millicent Tomlin (1768-1854). Children: George W.; Joseph; Martha;
Hudson; Sarah; William; Jacob, Jr.; Gamaliel; Millicent; Experience;
Sylvia. Floyd County.
