"MICHAEL YOUNG, Arlington, was born May 11, 1832 in Mehren,
Rhein Prussia, Germany. He is a son of John A. and Margaret
(Pantenburg) Young, natives of the above place, were the former
was a farmer and cooper by occupation. In 1841 he came to Peru,
Ill., where the family lived three years, after which he went to
farming, having entered 160 acres of land in Westfield Township,
where both parents died. They reared four children, viz.: Mrs.
Catharine Thealen, Michael, Peter and Joseph Young, the latter
deceased. "
